USPS Early Retirement

USPS Early Retirement

If I could express to other Postal Employees one important thing, it would be that God has not
given us a spirit of fear. I listen to the fear and desperation in the voices of the management in our
district office. Those men and women have no peace in the Lord. God’s people have nothing to fear.
Even when I was the very lowest PTF, God put a protective covering over me and opened every door in
an incredibly miraculous way.

God put me in the US Postal Service twenty five years ago. He didn’t put me here so someone
could ruin my life. I don’t have to fear and neither does anyone else who trusts in Him. I’ve seen one
miracle after another in my postal career. I’ve done spiritual battle with the worst, and God has, in
every situation, given me the victory.

Those victories began on a single day, twenty five years ago when I was walking out to my
mail box, talking to God about needing a job. The rural carrier was coming so I waited. As she stopped
her car, she shouted, “You have to go to work for the Postal Service.” She had such a dumbfounded
expression on her face, I knew that she had no idea why she said that to me.

I believed God was telling me to do just that so I told Him, “If that’s what You want, than You’ll
have to help me.”

I had no idea how to apply or what the requirements were. I found out that the Postal Exam
was being given in the university auditorium, but on that day, I suddenly became too sick to get out of
bed. So, I asked God why He let that happen. I told Him that if He wanted me to work for the Postal
Service, He’d have to open the doors. That evening I was in the store, choosing cat food when a lady
said, “Don’t buy that kind. It damages the urinary system.”

I told her that I missed the Postal Service exam. I asked myself why I was telling her my
problems, but I understood instantly when she blurted out, “It’s a good thing you missed that test. I
gave it. There are 3,000 people ahead of you. But, I’ll tell you how to get ahead of all of them.”

God opens doors for those who trust Him. The very next day I began my federal employment
career. It hasn’t been easy for me but every step of the way, God has been with me. I have had the
worst, incredibly awful experiences with “unqualified …” (Postal employees will understand this
statement), but through it all, God has given me the victories and He will not let me down, or you, if you
trust Him.

It’s from those experiences that I came to understand the power God has given us through faith.
Faith, Jesus told us, is the power behind our prayers. If we believe without a doubt, we can move a
mountain. We can move the mountain that is sitting on top of God’s people in the US Postal Service if
we ask in the name of Jesus for it to be thrown into the sea and we believe it is being removed even as
we pray.

Within the pages of the novel Finding Dwain I placed this secret of faith. Teenager, Dane
Campbell understood that to have faith is to not have doubt. He asked God, in the name of Jesus and

believed he’d receive what he asked for. He didn’t mope around complaining about the situation, he
prepared for his blessing.

Worrying about what is going to happen after we take this Postal problem to the Lord, is not an
expression of faith. I pray without doubt. I don’t know what’ll happen to others in the Postal Service,
but I know without a doubt that God will take care of me. I have again and again prayed for God to give
a mean boss or coworker the desire to find something better to do. Every time, that person suddenly
had the desire to transfer. One Post Master suddenly got the most unbelievable desire and thrilled the
whole office when she retired to babysit her grandchild.

I never asked God to bring a hammer down on someone’s head for mean things said or done to
me. It was easier to just ask that the person be given an offer that is too good to be true. Sometimes I
even asked for that person to be exceptionally happy with the move. I always was.

US Postal Employees, please ask God before you take an early retirement. It might be an offer
that’s too good to be true but it might also be that offer you’ve been waiting for. Christians, remember
that God has not given us a spirit of fear.

Join me in asking God to remove our mountain and cast it into the sea. We shouldn’t be
stopped from providing service and that’s what our heavy mountain is trying to do.

Note from the Author

I’m sorry I haven’t done well with the updating of this website. I love to write. I’m not skilled at managing my website but I would like to tell you what I’m doing.

As you know, I’m a Postal clerk at a time when the Postal Service is struggling. We’re cut back to where I’m wore out most of the time but I still get in a little writing late in the evening.

I’m writing a series I’ve named, The Chronicles of Obonon.

The next step for Finding Dwain is production as a Christian movie.

After that, a sequel for Finding Dwain.

I reply to all all those who register on this website and welcome e-mail correspondence.

Dianne’s Reunion of Lost Son

Dianne’s story inspired the writing of Finding Dwain.  For twenty four years Dianne prayed for a child she had never seen. She didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl.  Then she asked God to bring that child back into her life.  Here is their reunion in the Seattle airport in October of 1993.

Sample Chapter

Brent Anderson knew he was the last person Zelda Cloud cared to see walking into her office. If she had someone less friendly at the front desk, he would have been told that she was too busy to give him a moment of her time. But here he was, sitting before her desk, as always—praying she would finally do what she always vowed she absolutely was not going to do. (more…)
